""“A PLEASANT TIME AT TIOMAN”""
My family and I have stayed at Paya Beach Resort several times - we love being able to swim off the beach and snorkel immediately, we find ease in its access to so many shops and restaurants, and even the resort's own buffet isn't bad either (we especially love their charcoal bread)! They're very accommodating; my father wasn't feeling well and the staff kindly packed us generous amounts of porridge from the buffet. Whenever we asked for amenities (like soap and coffee) for the room, our wishes were always granted. The staff here were always smiling and friendly, which we appreciated very much. It was really too bad that some of us weren't feeling well enough to take advantage of the snorkelling tour as part of our package, but we would most definitely come back again to explore more of Tioman. Thanks for taking care of us!Mdlxh

"A great getaway!"
A great getaway! Staffs are very friendly and helpful . Didn't expect the food to be so good even the simple breakfast and lunch serve extremely good and tasty food.
Thanks to Mr Wong for the nice seafood served during dinner, especially the salted egg prawn and satay that cannot be missed!
The room need a little maintenance work though but it's not a big issue for us as most of the time we are out at the wonderful beach.
It will be great if there are more beach chairs and perhaps some tables for those who loves to lazy around the beaches throughout the day.
Regret for not staying more days there! Will definitely go back again for more fun and relaxing stay.

"A wonderful stay at Paya Beach Resort"
My friends and I had a 4D3N stay at Paya Beach Resort (8th-11th May). We were satisfied with the services provided by your staffs. They were efficient and friendly. We would want to particularly commend one of your staff. He is Megat from Activity. He was our snorkelling guide. He was very accommodating to our requests and was very approachable. We would appreciate if you could pass the attached photo to him to show our sincere appreciation for his excellent services throughout our stay at P. Tioman.
Thank you, Paya Beach. We had an awesome stay there! ;DNur A'tikah Ali

""“COMFORTABLE RESORT AND FRIENDLY STAFF”""
We booked a Deluxe Chalet for 4 Adults and 2 kids. Easy check-in upon arrival by ferry. The chalet looks beautiful with the loft level, however we realised that it will not be ideal for my husband and me to sleep on the loft level as the stairs are not easy to climb up and down especially if in the middle of the night to go to the toilet. More recommended for teens or older kids. The bedroom at the main hall is for my brother's family with their 2 kids. So we decided to change to 2 rooms and checked with reception if they have available rooms for us. They checked with their office and are very accommodating for us to change and even bring us to check out the room types. Finally, we were very pleased to change to 2x Superior Chalet (with 2x queensize bed in each room) and rooms were clean and big.
We stayed for 4D3N, but they only clean-up the room once out of the 3 nights stay.
And they do not provide proper floor mat in the bath, thus many guests will use the bath towel as floor mat which I suggest they might look into this seriously for hygiene purpose. There is no replenishment of coffee & tea since they only cleaned the room once. On a side note, only basic toiletries like shampoo, bath gel and shower cap are provided. But it's not a problem for us as we usually bring our own.
We have added on snorkelling with 1x lunch & 2x dinner in our package. The food is just normal and what irks us most are the flies around the buffet spread, especially the cakes and pastries which are not covered. Nevertheless, the ala-carte meals are good both for lunch and dinner, food is good and cheap. Especially the al-fresco dinning with nice view of the sea and sunset @the Beach Bar & Grill. The waiters are friendly, attentive and helpful.
Overall, we enjoyed the snorkelling trip to Ringgis Island and also the beach infront of the resort is clean and we did snorkelling there, where we saw many fishes. However, resort should add some deck chairs at the beach, there are none compared to many other beach resorts. We also explored the nature of Tioman, trying out ATV and short trekking uphill to see the rock fall.
You can see monkeys and monitor lizards around the resort which is the beauty of it's nature. However, there is nothing much to do during the night. So it's good to head to the spa if you can't find any other activities. We treat ourselves to an awesome spa session after a tiring day out at sea and it's relaxing.
Nothing major hic-up or complain for the price we paid. Will come back again if we got a chance.
Love the beach, sun (though rather hot during this time of the year), sand, sea and nature of Tioman.BetBless

""“DEFINITELY COMING BACK”""
Just ended my 3D2N revitalizing spa package. True enough,i felt energized after this awesome experience. The massage ,body spa and hair treatment was so relaxing.
I stayed in a standard Chalet ,located near the pond. i liked the location, feels good to reconnect with nature once in a while. The room was big for a solo traveller like me (can accommodate 4 persons). The room was clean and spacious. However ,toiletries such as brush and toothpaste was not provide so i had to go to the nearest shop to buy one.
The staff are so friendly and hospitable especially the Manager who was accommodating.
The food was good, however there should have more variety to cater to different all over the world.
Overall,it was a very pleasant experience,value for money!Srammikalif

""“SURPRISINGLY NICE PLACE”""
Came here as part of a diving package with Mr Yip. We took the deluxe suite for 3 pax, it's a living room with attached toilet as well as a bedroom with attached outdoors toilet. Outdoors toilet comes with your own jacuzzi too! Clean respectable rooms! Great to come back too.
Strong air con as well
Surprised by the cleanliness and was expecting a more rundown place. Checked in after midnight and there were no towels
They have their own pool with deep end etc for diving training I guess? They have their own in house dive shop as well.
Great that they have hoses every few meters to wash the sand off the feet before stepping into the rooms
Great seafood near the sea, met the boss and he recommended quite a few items for us
They catch their seafood fresh from nearby!
Zuresh was very friendly and funny
Beautiful place by the searisxlene

""“GREAT PLACE FOR FAMILY AND GROUP OUTING”""
The resort is the largest on the short stretch of Paya beach (800 meters long). It is almost self contained with salt water pool, restaurant, bar, gift shop, spa, snorkeling and dive centre within its compound.
Depending on the package that you take, buffet meals from the main restaurant is included. It is nothing great, but will fill you up. Menu is mainly Asian Fusion with one Western option (eg. roasted chicken with Mash OR Roasted Lamb with roasted potatoes etc). There are about 3 other restaurants on the island and several food stalls selling burgers, snacks and drinks. We like the chinese food at Paya Cafe, located behind the Paya Beach Resort (about 400m walk).
The snorkeling centre provides affodable rental of snorkeling mask (MYR8/USD2), life jacket (MYR7/USD1.80) and fins (MYR7/USD1.80). A snorkeling trip cost from MYR50(USD13) to MYR90(USD23) per person for 4 to 8 hours trip. Rental of small speed boat with driver for 8 hours cost around MYR800(USD205) to MYR900(USD230). The beach front provides good snorkeling spot with abundant marine fishes but poor coral (as seafloor is exposed during low tide).
The island is a designated duty free. Hence prices of cigarettes and alcohol is slightly lower than on main land. A can of beer cost around MYR2(USD0.50) to MYR4(USD1). There is a vending machine that dispenses a selection of canned and bottled beer and cider costing between MYR4(USD1) to MYR7(USD1.80) 24 hours a day at the main restaurant.spkster

""“WONDERFUL STAY - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU IGNORE MANY OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.”""
Look, if, like me - you ae looking for an unpretentious laid back place, dont care too much if there is limited WiFi but care for quality, location and good food, then this review is for you. We stayed for three nights in the middle of May. When we arrived the friendly staff where quick to change our two rooms apart to two rooms next to each other. The ferry from Mersing was running late and far from fancy - who cares. Safety matters. I am very surprised that no one here stresses that Paya Beach resort is actually located in a mini village - lots of little shops, restaurants and dive schools. What is everyone complaining about? The snorkelling opportunities are wonderful and the ferry arrives basically on the resorts door step. We went jungle trekking and quadbiking, to name a few. The scuba diving is also wonderful. My advice would be to not take a full board package - it was wonderful to have different lunches and suppers at nearby little places. Lots of little shops to buy water, ice cream and beers. Overall, wodnerful and beautiful rooms and grounds.GeoFoodFanatic
